Hot Topic: No Global Health without Mental Health

Monday, 18 August 2014: 4:30 PM-6:00 PM
Tubughnenq 5 (Dena'ina Center)

This symposium is timely in light of the rapidly increasing recognition that mental health is an integral component of global health. The speakers will illustrate this by examining the relationships between mental health and other global health priorities: maternal and child health (Vikram Patel); chronic diseases such as Type II diabetes (Jaime Miranda); and HIV/AIDS (Eugene Kinyanda). The presentations will draw on epidemiologic findings and discuss the implications for global health.
