Eric Fombonne will discuss the Emerging Epidemiology of Autism. He will focus on global prevalence and variation by time and place; and assess the state of the science of risk factor epidemiology in this field. Joachim Hallmayer will report on Genetic Discoveries in Autism and note how these are influencing other fields of research. Shekhar Saxena of WHO will present A Global Perspective. He will review lessons learned and future directions in making autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities more central to the work of WHO and other international agencies.
